Trump: American Military Who Die in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’

“Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers,” said Trump of the military. President Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed. This man has zero respect for the men and women who volunteer to fight for this country. I don’t know why people have any respect for him.

Hopefully this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back for Trump supporters, especially those serving or have a family member serving. This is not the first time he disrespected the people that serve in the armed forces.

Let’s not forget he also completely ignored intelligence that Russia was putting bounties and US soldiers’ heads. He also insulted John McCain and all POWs saying he prefers people who don’t get caught. Trump even told a grieving widow that her husband “knew what he signed up for” after he was killed, and he suggested that soldiers who have PTSD weren’t “strong.”
On soldiers buried at Arlington: “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?”

And, of course, he’s been mum about Russian bounties while publicly advocating for them to attend the G7 summit.

On the centennial of Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in the rain: “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” He apparently made the same remark about former President George H.W. Bush, calling him a “loser” for being shot down by the Japanese in World War II.

Military Parade

In 2018, as Trump was planning a military parade at the White House, he asked senior staff not to include wounded veteran amputees because people would feel uncomfortable around them. “Nobody wants to see that,” he reportedly said.

According to the Post, a former senior administration official said Trump referred to soldiers missing in action, again, as “losers.” The source told the Post that Trump said MIA troops “had performed poorly and gotten caught and deserved what they got.”
