Student tests positive for Covid-19 at Riddle Brook Elementary in Bedford NH

As schools start to open in NH, all eyes are on if outbreaks of Covid-19 will occur. The first positive case has been reported at Riddle Brook Elementary School in Bedford NH.

The student was in the classroom on Friday and the school is resuming classes today, Monday August 31. The school is currently tracing who was within 6 feet of the student for over 10 minutes.

The student who was asymptomatic is suspected of contracting Covid-19 while attending a sports camp. The school notified parents of students at Riddle Brook Elementary on Saturday via a voicemail and email.

Bedford School Superintendent Mike Fournier said, “We worked with the school principal, the teacher and DHHS worked with the family to be able to determine who, if anyone, would have been within 6 feet for a cumulative time of 10 minutes within a 4-hour period.”
