Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is now under intense scrutiny and facing removal from Labor and Education Committees after promoting QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy theories alleging pedophilia among high-profile political leaders & celebrities as well as making public comments supporting violence against lawmakers. Taylor Greene won Georgia’s 14th congressional district seat in November during her first run for office. Her actions could result in removal from House committees, censure, and potential removal from Congress. If House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy fails to remove her from Labor and Education committees, Democrats are prepared to force a floor vote this week for her removal.
Some of Taylor Greene’s wildest conspiracy theories include suggesting that an airplane did not hit the Pentagon on 9/11; that the school shootings in Newtown, Conn. and Parkland, Fla. were staged; that the Clintons crashed JFK’s airplane; and that a laser from space controlled by a powerful Jewish banking family are what sparked the 2018 CA wildfires. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, known by some as Trump’s enabler-in-chief, has recognized her as a cancer for the Republican party as they focus their attention on taking back control of the House and Senate in next year’s midterm elections.
In January, Twitter banned Taylor Greene from their social media platform for a paltry 12 hours after she shared multiple baseless claims about voter fraud in Georgia that violated their new misinformation policy. She is also the onetime national director of the Family America Project which serves up some of the right-wing’s darkest ideas on Facebook featuring death threats against Democrats. In 2018, Taylor Greene publicly endorsed hanging Obama and Hillary Clinton on her personal facebook page.
