“Wearing of Face Coverings in the City of Concord – COVID-19”

The Concord City Council will hear from the public regarding the new proposed mask mandate at their meeting on August 31. The draft ordinance will require employees to wear a face covering when interacting with the public and whenever they are within six feet of a co-worker. The ordinance would also apply to members of the public who are entering a business, outdoor area of a business, work site, or are in a city building. A person will not have to wear a mask if they have a health related reason or if they are under 10 years of age.

If approved, the ordinance titled “Wearing of Face Coverings in the City of Concord – COVID-19,” would be in effect until January 2, 2021 unless it is extended. The penalty for not complying with the ordinance is a written warning for the first offense. For the second offense, a $15 fine would be issued.
