If you are involved in the music scene in Concord NH, you know Lucas Gallo. He books music shows at a few local venues. He has cohosted a local radio show on WNHN-LP 94.7 FM promoting local music in and around Concord NH. On top of all of that he runs Concord Music Scene, on Facebook, a page that lists all the local gigs around town. If that wasn’t enough he also use to play in the band The Jamantics(or still does… they have another show coming up) AND he still finds time to record a new solo album.

“From the Attic” by Lucas Gallo

The new album, “From the Attic” was recorded by Gallo in his Concord home. Mixed and mastered by Don Mitchell of Darlingside fame.

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of the album. The thing is awesome. Imagine Tom Waits. Now, imagine Waits with a hat. Now, imagine him smoking a cigarette that is maybe menthol instead of unfiltered. Now, picture him sitting on a chair in your attic. That is the tone of Gallo’s voice. Gallo has a technique of picking and using pull offs much in the way Robert Johnson started a lot of his 32 songs. He uses his rhythm guitar playing as a backing for subtle and melodic solos.

The cd is available on all streaming services and CD Baby. My suggestion though? Catch Gallo at an upcoming show and grab it from him in person.
